The Atomic Trailer Ranch is a family home refuge that is also a unique, mid-century time warp. We’re still fighting the cold war on the Ranch, and you’ll see signs of the times everywhere you look. Spread about the property are stylish ‘50s trailers, funky automobiles, and a Sputnik sign, twinkling over Radioactive Rita, who is always alert in her guard shack.
This large vacation rental home is located just outside Joshua Tree National Park. The Ranch sits high on five private acres and is surrounded by boulder-strewn mountains and the pristine Mojave desert below. The view offers a breathtaking overlook of the park entrance and is among the quietest neighborhoods in Joshua Tree. Take an evening stroll before settling back under the stars to bask in the warm glow or your campfire. We offer comfortable accommodations for larger groups of up to 12, and you can pitch a tent if you choose to host more people.
You’ll find photo opportunities abound at the Ranch and we welcome your photography for personal purposes. You’ll probably want to post your photos on Instagram or Facebook or Twitter and when you do, we only ask that you tag us with #AtomicTrailerRanch. Help us tell others about the Atomic Trailer Ranch.

Went here for my 30th birthday and had an amazing time. We will definitely be back. The location and house were perfect.
AndrewThis was such a great find. If you're looking for a place with real character, unique details, an amazing view and VERY comfy beds, then this is the place for you. Our family stayed there as a base for our travels into Joshua Tree and beyond and it was perfect. Highly recommended!!
SusanThe Atomic Trailer Ranch hosted nine of us very comfortably. The pictures don't do the house justice. It is a perfect desert retreat and the owner has added some amazing tree stump tables (wish I could have taken one home) and decorations throughout the property. Def would like to come back next year!
JoshuaCary was communicative and responsive. The Atomic Trailer Ranch was perfect for my event. It was completely comfortable and functional (great beds!), in an absolutely beautiful spot. The old cars, trailers, and wagon made it feel especially epic. We had a great time telling stories and laughing around the fire pit. Highly recommended!
JoshuaJust got home from staying on The Atomic Trailer Ranch for a few
Tristan days. I've got to say, this has very quickly become one of my favorite spots, period, and everyone that stayed with me agrees. Not only can it easily and comfortably fit a large group of people, but it's got character bursting at the seams. One of the earlier reviews compared the style to the Fallout series (iA great location. We had a great time. Very quiet. Lots of room. Plenty of beds and room.
PeterWe just got back from a fantastic trip to Joshua Tree and the fun
Jason and eccentric Atomic T Ranch. Cary was absolutely fantastic and accommodating helping to answer questions throughout the process of planning our trip. As soon as you pull up, you'll know you are in for a unique experience. The grounds are filled with not only antique trailers, but old cars, trucks, and even a tollbooth from the 1960s. We made
